HeartCode ACLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s ACLS Course. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session. HeartCode ACLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. To enter the course, students must complete a precourse self-assessment. Students will then be presented with a team dynamics lesson and 10 In-hospital patient cases, including a BLS case and 2 megacode cases. The cases may be repeated as many times as necessary to pass. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students will take a multiple choice exam and must pass with a minimum score of 84%.  It takes 5-10 hours to complete the online portion.  You must bring your certificate of completion to the Skills Session. We schedule them at 8a on the days we have ACLS class. You will be tested on CPR, Respiratory Arrest and Megacode at the Skills session.

Medical professionals who respond to cardiovascular emergencies in and out of the hospital enhance their treatment knowledge and skills through the AHA’s ACLS training courses. AHA’s ACLS offerings highlight the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. They also cover airway management and related pharmacology.

The 2 day provider course is intended for anyone who has never had ACLS before. It is highly recommended to attend an EKG and Pharmacology course prior to your first ACLS. If you have been expired for a significant amount of time or are not comfortable with ACLS the 2 day provider might be right for you as you get more practice.

The one day recert or retrain or update ACLS is intended for HCP that use ACLS in their daily skills and have already completed the initial training. If your card is expired you may take the one day but cannot be remediated if you fail megacode or the written test.

HeartCode BLS uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills. After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing. Where available, students may also complete the hands-on session with a voice-assisted manikin (VAM). HeartCode BLS is for healthcare professionals seeking an alternative method for completing an initial or renewal BLS Course.

The AHA’s BLS Course provides the foundation for saving lives from cardiac arrest. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.

BLS Renewal for staff who hold current BLS for Healthcare Provider Card (not more than 30 days expired).

The Adult, child and infant CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult CPR/AED valid for two years.

The AHA’s PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. This course is designed to teach you the lifesaving skills required to be both a team member and a team leader in either an in-hospital or out-of-hospital setting.  The goal of PALS is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

Because the PALS Provider Course covers extensive material in a short time, you will need to prepare for the course beforehand.

If you do not learn and understand the ECG and PALS pharmacology information in the pre-course assessment tests, it is unlikely that you can successfully complete the PALS Provider Course.
